BMW Warranty

Hi,

Any idea if BM will throw a warranty claim out if non BM HID's installed ?, just picked up a 2009 GS with a full BMW warranty, and would like to upgrade just the Dipped to HID but don't wan to invalidate that valuable warranty !

All thoghts greatfully received !

not in my experience

I have done a lot of mods to my gs which is under warranty and had no quibbles about repairs as long as one of my mods has not caused the issue. For example I would not expect them to replace a dodgy headlamp after popping in HID but they have fixed final drive which is entirely un modified. That's with the extended warranty. By the way, subscribe to the forum!

No problem on my side from installing them and I have had a claim with them in. However, if you have a claim in the area of the headlight area for example best to unhook the entire HID setup and plug a regular bulb into the headlights to see if it works. If the stock bulb is fine the you know where the problem is.

move over bike coming through

HID50.com now have there own exclusive branding for there Hid kits, as we source top quality kit we thought it only right to get our own branding on the box :thumb2

Look out for our kits at some of the Major motorcycle parts retailers, in the very near future :thumb

And as always UKGSER’s get discount from the web site prices :D

Still think the box would look better with my bike on it :mmmm

:D

Had a run to Les`s place on Sat morn in the snow and ice to get some decent lights fitted. also to double the mileage on the bike, now at 120.
Best money ever spent on mods to any bike ive owned, and the originals on the gsa are better than most fitted to my previous bikes, but even the gsa are poor compared to the new set up. I am very impressed, thanks very much Les for an excellent installation. in such adverse conditions. and under the radar! :thumb:thumb2
Les can you let me have the details of your foot pegs and the tool compartment.

Les,

I would like to upgrade the lights on my 2010 1200GS, and you have been highly recommended to me by others on this site.

Can you please let me know how I would order your products and respectfully request that you fit them for me as I am a complete biff!

Thanks Les, and Merry Christmas.

Les' HID's on a '09 1200 GS

I knew I wanted to upgrade my dipped to HID just for standing out a bit more really, so got in contact with the man himself, he suggested a 35w Ceramic core and ballast bracket. Package arrived the next day, as expected superb service from Les.

Got to install it aound a week later, failry simple if you follow the instructions, the fidlly bit is the bracket on the radiator mounts, remove the screen it makes life a lot easier !

Anyway all connected up and away we go, well not quite, the lamp didn't fire and a LAMPF message on the computer. So I figuerd maybe the battery needed charging, left it on charge over night, still the same in the morning. So various emials and packages from Les, (his customer service is the best I have ever come across from any compnay anywhere !) I thought just before i get into chaging the ballast and ignightor over I'd reset the CanBus (30 mins battery disconnect) and fire the bike with a bit of gas, and hey presto lights alive on the original set up Les had shipped.

So I reckon on my first attempt the battery had been a bit weak and tripped the computer into a lamp fail, from that point on it wasn't supplying power to the headlmap unitl I reset it.

I guess theres a lesson in here about the super sensative electronics on the GS, if at first it doesn't work charge the battery and reset the CanBus, you never know you that might be all thats casuing it

Les, you are a top man, thnaks for all your help and superb service.

Ah yes the notorious LAMPF. Ballasts are like women. Jack Nicholson best summed it up:

How do you write woman so well? I think of a man and I take away reason and accountability.

Very happy

Les.
Just a quick thanks for the hid kit that I ordered before Christmas. It came within a few days of ordering. I only got round to installing them today and would like to say a big thanks for the straight forward instructions they made the job a lot easier. The install only took me two and a half hours, it would have been a lot less but the cordless drill was flat :blast.

Cheers

Chris

Paid a visit to Les's yesterday to have the final HiD installation...top service, excellent products used and a bloody good chat to boot...:thumb2

Thx as always Les.....:D

Hid50

Bought a Hid kit and mount to fit on my GS. Arrived the following day. I wanted it to be as simple as possible (and it was). Like most things in life you get what you pay for. Quality SS mount and all the parts needed (including the big plastic cap, which was cut and the lamp mounted). Well worth the money:thumb

Les, quote me by PM and I`ll send you the dosh for a set. I`ve put it off long enough............

Regards,

Mark.

Mark since Les hooked me up with four HIDs I enjoy driving in the countryside. The villagers thing something from Close Encounters of the Third Kind is approaching! :D. TBH I wouldn't bother with the main.
