I'm glad you posted this as a hid upgrade is on my shopping list too:thumb2

As for your light bar check out this site, I bought one www.migsel.com

I like the look of the MIGSEL bar... now reduced in price.

As for fitting HIDs.. I'm still in two minds about that with the stock lamp... I have been informed that feedback from the 1100 is generally good although the best performance with HID comes from projector lenses which most (ie stock) 1100s dont have

I have read elsewhere that the H4 isn't the best bulb type to HIDify

I'm waiting to see how UGG gets on with his twin lamp idea... and maybe hear from Tsiklonaut about his.. modification of the touratech setup

hi mate glad you have the right GS to ride!:thumb

migsel bar is a great bit of kit, fits well (designed to fit onto existing fixings etc etc)
I just used a pair of spots from halfrauds at about £25 a set......wiring up using a Nippy Normans auto switch, make great running lights!

also installed a side light bulb which IIRC was an LED and produces much more light than the standard for same wattage, makes so much light for dalylight running headlamp is not needed...

dont think HIDs are actually worth the cost/effort....unless you are looking for a winter project:)

go to halfords mini spots £25.00 relay kit £20.00 with instructions p.m if you get stuck

If you had an 1150 you would!! the std lights are CRAP!.

has anyone got any pictures of their 1100 all lit up, just got back from a quick blast and the light is really poor dip beam seems to only light up about 10 ft in front of the bike!!!
for some reason car drivers don't seem to like me riding with full beam on:augie

I fitted HID and a How much (a member on here :thumb cheers Dave) lightbar to my 1100 Tested it all together last night, superb, currently running FF50s, they do look a little yellow though compared to the HID 6000k, I will post some pics here tomorrow.

Thats a standard headlight .

I have fitted a H4 kit ,to mine , Light is brillant ,makes the spots look pale yellow , I fitted 4.600 , there is a pic of mine somewhere with spots and fog lights .

1100s and lights.

you best stick it on ebay quick then dave... get yourself an 1100 :augie

I've started I have already got an 1100 bevel box but also HID, how do a company like BMW pass the original 1150 lights for production? they are dangerous down dark lanes!. get HID's boys you'll never look back and you can SEE IN THE DARK!!
Dave (I hate christmas) GS.

i have the 6k HID and PIAA Spots + Hella Fogs.... All on together and I just pull over for the cooked rabbit every so often as it saves cooking..... Well worth the upgrade!....Your be shocked how good they are :thumb2
