HIDs on an 08

Quick poll before I splash the wonga on 50 watt HIDs

Anyone had issues with a 35watt HID not working on dip beam on the 08.
It tries to fire up (quick flash) then sticks the lamp fail warning on the dash
Works fine on the main beam

Wires are on the correct terminals
Looks like the wifes Golf is going to get a present

Sounds as if you need a 22 ohm resistor in the circuit. Do a search, some times they need this.Mine did.

Been reports of the 08 being more sensitive to HIDs, Mr Wassall's kits work fine though

It is he who will be the recipient of my wonga
I just hate parting with cash if I don't need to.

supplementary question - you found the sat nav power socket down the right hand side of the redesigned front end I believe. Can it be seen without taking the bits off. I can see one of the sockets cable tied to the top of the loom but not the one with the cap on.

Can just about be seen but it's a lot easier with the side panel off.
