Hiflo Oil Filters

Evening. Has anyone had experience of Hiflo oil filters on their oilhead? Good or bad. Their is someone in NZ selling them at half the price of the B*W Stealer. Hiflo Filtro HF163.

Have used hi flo 163 for longer than I can remember and never had any trouble

Interesting article,and very well done , but missing some very basic information.
comparing the area of the filter media in the filter does not determine if its good or bad.

Engine manufactures will spec the filter for partice size of debris that the media should capture and the oil flow through it at all temperatures ,and the operation of any valves etc.
BMW obviously charge a premium for their filters, these are made by Knecht from memory, and Steptoe sells them for about a fiver
Dont think i would take chances with oil filters, you could wreck your engine in about half an hour with a dodgy one.
Pays yer money and take yer chances
