I've a test ride on an approved used 1200GS next week. Reg in 04 and 28k on the clock. Any thoughts as to likely problem areas?

Don't know about a high mileage, but a remarkable one all the same.
I didn't know any 1200s had been out of the workshop and back on the road long enough to rack up those sort of miles.

Tyres and brake pads probably worn out...
I'm coming up to 38000 miles on my Oct 04 12GS. I don't see this level of usage as a problem but I will get it carefully checked before it's out of warranty.

I'm just about to put my 04 1200GS up for sale at £6995 and wondered if it might be a better deal that the one you are looking at.
It's 22k miles, full BMW service history, spokes, ABS, heated grips and hand guards.
Also, it's got another year of BMW warranty which will expire in May 2007 - peace of mind for you!
It was yellow, but there are too many yellow ones around so it's now a rather superb dark metallic grey and gets loads of compliments from everyone who sees it. I've also put Renthal bars on which vastly improve the riding position, and of course it comes with Tobinators.

I'm just about to put my 04 1200GS up for sale at £6995 and wondered if it might be a better deal that the one you are looking at.
