high mileage gs's arent a problem to their owners. it would apprear to become a problem when you sell them!

my bike is fully serviced, never ever missed a beat but despite all the back slapping that goes on about how good beemers are at running forever, no one wnats to buy a bike with anything above normal mileage......

I can't help with buying your bike at the moment (I've got .... another brand of motorcycle ... so forgive me) and since I've only had it a year, I won't (can't afford to) change it for another bike yet.

However, I'm resigned to the fact that when it does become time (probably this time next year) I'm going to be buying something considerably older than I would usually consider for a "new" bike, and with a lot more mileage. If I had the cash - I'd much rather have a bike that had been used but properly maintained than a 4 year old machine with 3000 miles on the clock and " a full service history", otherwise known as the 600 mile oil change (if your lucky) and wash.

It took me some time to sell my last bike, but the deal came good just when I needed it ... these things generally work out.

I too find it somewhat strange that these "urban-thrashing-trail-blazing-motorway-munching-all-conquering-machines" suddenly become crocks when you come to sell them. Actually, maybe I should support that theory, it might help out when I'm actually trying to buy one.

Keep the faith - your bike sounds well sorted and not something to be afraid of. The price sounds very, very fair and someone is going to get a bargain.
