Right then here's the rub. Where I live my bike will be nicked in 50 seconds flat. Where I work, you'd be hard pushed to get to my bike unless you were already expected by me. you would also have to get past guard dogs and security staff. You would also have to have the codes to get into the bike club where the bike is stored (Secured aircraft hangar) And according to Highway Insurance they want to charge me a much higher premium just because my bike is stored somewhere away from home, even though the likelihood of my bike getting nicked or damaged is slightly less than 1%.

I'm getting increasingly fecked off with Ripoff Britain....

Does anyone know of a bike insurer who wont try and screw me just because I want to keep my bike somewhere other than my home address, and at a place with a theft probability of less than 1%.

Licence held over 10 years.

5 years no claims

probably no more than 6000 miles a year.

Err , thats about it :blagblah:type

Bite the bullet and f__k off rip off britain and go abroad. Or why not stop working and claim benefits. Oh no lets guess your a man. So you can't do that.

Personally at the age of 50 and a man I just would love to get pregnant (Isn't that my Human Rights) and get all those loverly benifits that the working mugs pay for.

Rant over and probably the wrong place for it.

But ever since everyone got a degree we sort of lost all our common sense. Blairs Britain.

I'm in the same situation as you. When I explained the situation to the insurance broker he said that it would be covered when I was at work anyway(which could be any time day or night). He then asked me if where I leave it is so secure and safe, that do I really need to be worrying about whether its covered in that situation. To me I'm sure that nothing will happen to it, and I would be able to find out who it was anyway.

That's a fair point actually. If you believe it is so secure at your work then tell then it is stored at home. If it cant get nicked then you will never have a problem so long as your insured going to and from your place of work.

Problem is if you say it is kept at home and keep it at work and then it gets nicked when you are out and about and they find out you told a little white lie on the application they will invalidate your insurance and weasel out of paying.

"I rode the bike to work, worked late and went to the pub for some dinner. I had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner and decided to catch the bus home."

Leaving a vehicle at a workplace overnight is a pretty common occurence and I doubt the insurer would bother to investigate as long as you present a Police Crime no.

I'd certainly take the risk in similar circumstances.
