Was rubbish on me RT1200,could never work out how it worked(mainly because it didn't) On me GS1250(24 plate)it's perfect. No clutch slip pulling away but I do have to knock the revs up a tad.

None of my bikes have Hill Hold Assist. I manage to get by all these years.
You non users must just be better than the 90pc who embrace it.. it’s not about getting by, it’s about progress.

I ain’t 20 any more, any help I can get holding a Rocket 3 I’ll take.

Airbags,

ABS,

Cornering ABS,

Crumple Zones,

Inertia Reels,

Seatbelts,

Cornering Lights,

High Level Stop Lights,

Fuel Guages,

Auto chokes,

it’s all bollocks ain’t it, they got by in the 50s

Do you still do the football pools ?

Just wondering... Did Bikers complain when Automatic advance /retard, chokes and fuel taps were introduced 🤔😉

Yeah it’s all crap…..

Only for amateurs…….when I was 16 and got my first bike I had to get up 3 hours before I went to bed to start kick starting it…… Yawn

Because it has a system fitted which allows a rest, and should work properly.

When I was 2 I was pissing the bed…….things move on

What’s wrong with having a British 60s bike that pisses out oil regularly,

or a 70s Italian bike that has an electrical system designed by a strategically shaved chimp……

Answer ………….we don’t have to now.
Very true,I had the chance for a software update on my RS for this, didn't bother.

Have always used the manual hold, like others say the auto version very abrupt.
On a slightly different tack someone has advised me to use all the low, auto, high settings on the suspension periodically to stop things 'seizing up ' anyone know if there's any truth in this ?

I cycle through my preload settings about once a month, sitting on it with the engine running just to feel it moving.

Yep, my Triumph guru suggested exactly this, like running your AC in car occasionally during the winter 👍🏽

there's a chap on a USA K1600 forum saying he's finding it very hard to maneuver at low speed and had dropped his new bike twice already - I wrote a bit back about the k1600 being hard to ride at low speeds due to a huge number of issues in the design of that super heavy monster that all gang up upon one another - then I read this post and remembered a key nuisance about hill start drivel -

if you are in tricky situations where you aim to place a foot firmly to hold the bike up at the moment you intended to stop the bike - with Hill hold it often jumps in and locks the bike before you got to where you intended to stop - as you desperately recalculate the need to stamp a foot down early - you can end up out of place not really best able to support the weight as the bike starts to topple over

for those that have one - note: on the K1600 the reverse that the dam thing needs coz the pegs stop you feet being where they need to be - there is a New Recall in the USA coz it plays up and sets the bikes on fire...

Seems to me like you’re still pissing the bed :D

Sometimes the Fred Flintstone ism on here is ridiculous.

I’ve gone full circle.

I piss it now due to lack of bladder control

I’ve used hill control about ten times today, perfect every time.

I’ve also used the ABS once, or Triumph did it for me.

Incredibly I’m still alive…..

Should have turned it all off.

It’s shite , read it here.

No , because once you’re past the knob twiddling it’s very little to do with riding a bike, same as high level brake lights etc etc, has no effect on your riding. .. :D

Hill assist, the answer to a problem that doesn’t exist :D

The clue is in the word “assist”

What if someone has Reynolds or Atthritis, or like me a metal lower left leg.

I’ve typed this slowly so the “

Flintstone Section”

can keep up

Suddenly a quick shifter, auto ot whatever has given someone years more riding.

Still, crack on “Fossil Section”

Apols typing errors, I’m using a thing called an iPhone with a screen keyboard.

It’s shite, never catch on …..
