You non users must just be better than the 90pc who embrace it.. it’s not about getting by, it’s about progress.None of my bikes have Hill Hold Assist. I manage to get by all these years.
Yeah it’s all crap…..Just wondering... Did Bikers complain when Automatic advance /retard, chokes and fuel taps were introduced![]()
Very true,I had the chance for a software update on my RS for this, didn't bother.Because it has a system fitted which allows a rest, and should work properly.
When I was 2 I was pissing the bed…….things move on
What’s wrong with having a British 60s bike that pisses out oil regularly,
or a 70s Italian bike that has an electrical system designed by a strategically shaved chimp……
Answer ………….we don’t have to now.
I cycle through my preload settings about once a month, sitting on it with the engine running just to feel it moving.Have always used the manual hold, like others say the auto version very abrupt.
On a slightly different tack someone has advised me to use all the low, auto, high settings on the suspension periodically to stop things 'seizing up ' anyone know if there's any truth in this ?
Yep, my Triumph guru suggested exactly this, like running your AC in car occasionally during the winterI cycle through my preload settings about once a month, sitting on it with the engine running just to feel it moving.
That's exactly what I was advised.I cycle through my preload settings about once a month, sitting on it with the engine running just to feel it moving.

if you are in tricky situations where you aim to place a foot firmly to hold the bike up at the moment you intended to stop the bike - with Hill hold it often jumps in and locks the bike before you got to where you intended to stop - as you desperately recalculate the need to stamp a foot down early - you can end up out of place not really best able to support the weight as the bike starts to topple over
Stops the seals drying out,my car's on all year,my truck too but not my motorcycle.Yep, my Triumph guru suggested exactly this, like running your AC in car occasionally during the winter![]()
