Don't forget to re-check the emissions too ;)
Oh and tell your insurance company :augie

Niether of the above would worry me!

Just a nice smooth creamy delivery of power all the way through the rev range with no flat spots, and no snatching.:thumb2

Isn't the statutory emissions testing carried out in laboratories with the objective of making the engines appear as efficient as possible at specific rpms and load conditions. Personally I would rather have an engine that develops the same power at lower throttle openings across it's whole range. I know my precise fuel consumption for the past decade or more. I will let you know if my fuel efficiency improves, gets worse or remains the same.

Quick question before we get the remap if any of you nice people could help me.

I have a new GSA with the Akra slip on. Would it be worth getting new headers before Hilltop? Titanium Akras are about £650 but I think the BMW dealer will do a deal on purchase and fitting.

Open to other brands but preference if doing it would be titanium and a brand name. Sorry if this sounds rude but not into some man in a shed somewhere botching a special one for me because "akra is shit" etc. Did see some Mivv ones but they went an ugly brown. Did check previous posts but it seemed to be non stop bickering.

Thanks
Wiley

I asked Geoff at Hilltop a similar question a few days ago, he said is doesn't matter if the bike has standard or after market exhaust at the time of remap then its changed later.
The bike will recognise the changes and make the necessary changes to fuel / air mixture etc on its own.

I deliberately fitted the full system before going to visit Geoff. I'd rather have it set up properly before visiting, then I'll have the peace of mind.

I've read enough about the flexibility of the remapping to know I could make that change whenever I wanted, but that isn't the issue. If you have the money to make the change now, why not do it as early as possible and enjoy the best setup on your new bike for the longest time. The remapping visit doesn't have to be the deadline nor the reason to make the change.

I may be wrong but I think Akra are only ones to do titanium, all the rest I've looked at were stainless.

Well, well, a new year and a new set of forum personas to advertise Hilltop. This is quite a sophisticated long game, I’ll grant you, but the Forum needs to be careful aiding and abetting it (or not taking reasonable steps to protect members).

Please don’t fall for it.

I could be wrong but when I had my twin cam done a few years back I'm sure Geoff advised against having a k&n filter.

Why? I have one fitted and bike feels allot more responsive as it got allot more direct and unrestricted airflow.

As I said I'm going back a few years so I'm not 100% sure that's what he advised, give him a call :thumby:

Well I don't class myself as a fair weather rider but my slot on Saturday looks set to clash with a weather forecast of snow. Might wanna consider plans in case of very bad weather ??

I remember a similar discussion with him, however IIRC it related more to folk who had fitted free flow filter and full exhaust systems to their bikes without a remap. They were much more likely to run very lean and burn out a valve.
Hope that's correct, but it was over 2 years ago and I'm an old tosser now with a crap memory:rob

I sure I have heard the same , and suggest a check would be in order , as mentioned Geoff said the same to me but cant remember which bike it was 2004 , 2011 2013 2015(2016 not done yet) also never had a upgraded filter in the 1200 Multi funkwangle when Hilltopped
But would have said the LC as have had 3 tunned and never had a filter upgrade.
Toddmeister if you can remember 2 years ago your doing well ........ I cant remember most shit from a few days ago ..... must be that Kestral Larger again lol
