"Don't forget to re-check the emissions too
Oh and tell your insurance company"

Page 5 before the Troll appeared.

Regarding omissions, please can any owner who has had their bike "Hilltopped" and it is now old enough to require an MoT, let us know if the emissions caused an MoT fail?

I don't think that bike emissions are checked during MOT

My 2013 LC was Hilltopped over 2years ago and went through its MOT last year with no problems at all :thumb2

That was my understanding and unless there's a more obscure technical point anyone wants to add, pretty much undermines the emissions objection.

That is the one policy I would praise Sir Geoff for ... apart from that he's a modern day Bandit, preying on the gullible along life's hum drum 50mph highway.

Just out of interest , have had your bike done as your comment may be groundless and pointless . Please enlighten us , I'm dying to know.

Penalising? :nenau

He's offering a discount for existing customers. Would you prefer that he charges less for new customers, then increases the price on your next visit?

Penalising - yes. ie, he's charging 1st time customers more, just because they are a 1st time customer. He is clearly still making money when offering it at a discount for returning customers, so why not be equitable and offer a consistent price for all customers whether they are 1st time or not? If he wanted to offer a discretionary price for a returning customer, then it is discretionary and not advertised as such. In most business, a discount is offered for 1st time customers to attract new business... not the other way around.

Do you think so? From what I understand each update is a bespoke one for your bike and done on a rolling road and as such if you look at what equivalent prices are charged for cars what Geoff charges for the initial visit IMO is very competitive - I paid the same for a tuning box for my car. If he then chooses to reward existing customers for their loyalty by a further reduction then that's his decision to make and from the number of people on here that have used him more than once it would appear to suit both Geoff and those loyal customers very well.

If people think it's too expensive then they're free to go elsewhere.

I haven't had my bike Hilltopped I'm doing that on Saturday. I am basing my decision to go have this done on the large majority of those who have been and given positive reports. I will give an honest opinion after my visit and another a month later to let you know if the fuel consumption has been affected.
What are you basing your opinion on?

Its his business, he's free to charge whatever he wants to whoever he wants. He could charge us all different prices if he wants to. Either pay the price or go elsewhere.

Yes, and look how many people moan when that happens. Folk are always moaning that Sky do better deals for new customers, whereas they have been with Sky for 20yrs and get no discount. Be grateful that there is a discount at all, certainly dont moan about what others are getting.

Geof doesnt have to offer any discount at all if he doesnt want to. Im sure he's doing well with the pricing structure he's got, so why should he give a fuck?

I am not moaning. I am querying his pricing approach. It seems odd to price penalise 1st time customers by forcing a higher price. Given the suggestion was for a group buy here on UKGSers, it is reasonable to have expected one price.

Hes not price penalising first time customers. He's charging them the proper price. But if you sell your bike and buy a new one he is kind enough to give you a bit of a discount if you get it Hilltopped. Wheres the problem? :nenau

As a first time user I didn't qualify for a discount, so I got off my arse and arranged a group booking on here for six of us. It was a right royal pain in the arse, and I wouldn't organise it again. Folk drop out, others who say they will fill any vacant place change their minds. Even I had to drop out of my own group buy, but I still got the discount a few days later. I'd happily get any future bike Hilltopped, but would I organise another group buy? No fucking way. I'd rather just pay the full price and be done with it.

Geof does ask people to keep his group buy prices confidential, despite people blatantly posting them on here which I think is a bit unfair.

Call it a "loyalty discount"............

Do you feel better now?

My first 1200 came hilltopped, so can't comment on improvement ... but still ran like a lumpy bag of shite after 5 years on a Honda.
The twincam was far better than the hilltopped bike, and in my opinion needed no fettling.
The WC has ample power & I wouldn't dream of messing with it.
If I want smooth turbine performance there are plenty of options out there.

I can't comment on the Euro4 model, but neither can everybody in this thread planning on getting it done.

Att summed up this section in the pub with his "not knowing what to spend their money on next" comment.

Take a 15 grand premium best selling motorcycle and throw £350 at it for a software update.

If it were a track day GSXR1000, for sure Geoff is the man - I agree! :thumb

But c'mon, a quartet of fat middle aged tossers handing over a grand for a mornings work to enhance their twin pot tractor needs to consider supporting a local charity to enhance their lives.

Hope this enlightens you!

You are spot on but you will get slagged off for pointing it out - get ready to duck :)

They are doing it................................because they can!

Amazing that no comment is made when folks waste money on end cans, when for the same money or less the bike can be improved for torque, throttle response and mpg.

I have no interest in having my bike Hilltopped because I'm perfectly happy how it runs, but people are free to spend their money however they like.

If spending money having a remap does it for you then good luck.
