Exactly what does that prove ?
a rumour has it that the first wave of 1200wc press bikes went through Hilltop before journos got their arses on them as well.
Exactly what does that prove ?
Well im just back from having my bike set up on a dyno. It took three and a half hours and the the result was brilliant. PCV fitted and mapped...............chalk and cheese. More response from less throttle and much more "tractable". Its early days yet only done 60 miles but the fuel computer is saying MPG up 9.8mpg. I hardly have to twist the throttle, unlike before I had it done. The aim was 13.2 AFR and that was achieved. The bike wasn't too bad on full throttle it was already rich from 80% onwards. But it was as lean as feck everywhere else, with ratios reaching as high as 16.0 not uncommonPower wise only a 4hp increase over standard from 92.85 to 96.57hp and torque from 74.25 to 74.67. So all i know is what the seat of my pants is telling me and the mpg figures are nothing short of incredible. On board computer has never varied very much since the bike was new and was always around 52.4mpg no matter how many times I reset it. Now its at 62.2mpg and my riding style has not changed, only difference being a more responsive throttle that i don't need to twist so far. Now having spoken to the operator im glad I didn't throw my money away on what appears to be a sham ECU setup at Hilltop. I speak as I find and the dyno guy has had three bikes on his dyno after the so called set up there and every one of them had been given wrong figures. And the proof exists on the dyno graphs from those bikes, ive seen them. Now believe me if you like but quite frankly i don't really care whether you do or not, its your money not mine.

Surely your not saying there would be a huge difference in different dynos now are you ? All dynos have to be calibrated from time to time have they not ? Air pressure would affect results but no way would the difference all that much. I trust my guy, he's got nothing to gain by telling porkys now does he ? Or does he ? How in the hell can you add a 25% power increase without major changes to the engine ?If it was that easy and cheap to do surely all the WSBK and BSB teams would be doing it ? Im afraid i don't believe any of the hype surrounding Hilltop and thats my right to do so. So im going to get flack from peeps on here that have spent their hard earned and feel the need to defend their position...............fair enough, its their choice.

If you read my post earlier you would see that in fact THREE bikes that had been to Hilltop had indeed been to the dynojet centre and the figures obtained were so wildly off kilter as to make them completely unbelievable

The new bikes aint plug and play either.
Ecu is opened for mapping.
The new bikes have dedicated ports for access to all the bikes control units.
The old bikes aren't like that.
Wrong, on the new bikes (lc) you need to open them to connect a boot wire .
Not required on the older gs models.
BTW I map vehicles for my living ,that picture was a job I was doing on a 2013 r1200gs .

we all know the answer to this thread..someone who has been to hilltop needs to take his bike to a local dynojet center....watch this space![]()
