Hilltopped yesterday

Do beware running any big twin at low revs in high gear. Modern bikes *can* do it but chugging the engine will be putting huge strain on the crank and conrods. My HexHead with Power Commander makes a great "butt - butt -butt-buttBRRRR" from low revs with no complaint I can feel but I resist the temptation because of that bottom end strain.

That said I'm talking about 2000 rpm or lower and a stuttering engine is never any good so has to be sorted out.

As you can see from the graph the inconsistent running was between 2500 and 4500 just where it should be starting to purr.
In town if you opened the throttle a small amount between these revs you never knew if it would jerk forward or do nothing, now you know what is going to do.

well I'm booked in for next week

looking at those graphs I really notice the dip between 4000 - 4500 rpm and it feels a bit flat until 6000 rpm

Morning All,

At what mileage are you taking your bikes to Hilltop? Would like to join the queue of happy customers, but only just had first service - so will be a while yet.

Regards

It does not matter, your bike is run in, you will be doing it a favour by sticking it on a dyno. If you talk to Geoff he will tell that these engines like to be opened up hard to stop the bores from glazing.
Mine had done 3250 mls. I would have done it from the off if I hade known about it earlier.
