:hide:hide I've had 3 boxers (pre LC) Hilltopped and was very pleased with the results. All had a noticeable flat spot around 4k revs that was smoothed out and and a much crisper throttle response.

I now have a late 2017 GSA that came with the BMW Ackro can from new. TBH it's run great, no flat spots and I've been perfectly happy with it. I recently impulse bought a set of Remus headers off here which I've now fitted. Bike seems to run fine but nagging away at me is the thought it is now running too lean, I know the ECU has some adjustment in it automatically but is it enough?

I've heard Euro 4 bikes are tamper proof but have read conflicting stuff on here so my question is.......Can Hilltop modify the AF to ensure my bike is not running too lean, those with a Euro 4 bike that have had it Hilltopped what results have you had please?

Yes, I could ring Geoff but he's obviously got a vested interest in saying he can flash the ECU, I'm after some unbiased feedback please.

I won't let this thread become another bloody Hilltop slagging match so unless you have experience of getting a Euro 4 compliant bike Hilltopped please keep your opinions to yourself thanks:thumb

I have had a Euro 4 bike done and the improvements were as noticeable to my arse dyno as they were to previous LC bikes.

Hi Steve,
Not sure if you remember me but I bought some pannier bags from you once.
I've got a 2018 Exclusive with full Acra system and Hilltop.
I'm pleased with the result but as I live just up the road from you you are welcome to try my bike for yourself if you wish.
Let me know.
Pete

Which ones are the Euro 4 bikes. All LC models?

Nope not all, tell tale signs are orange reflectors on bottom of forks and blue ring on the inside of the clocks. Anything that has TFT is Euro4 too. I understand that 1250 bikes are Euro5

Hi Pete, Hope you're well. Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that!! I'm assuming you're fully retired now???

2016/17 onwards I think.

Mine is a 14 plate. One thing I did notice was the ability or eagerness to rev it out to the limiter where previously it struggled to rev. Not that I ride it that way but once in a while and that was most noticeable. Oh, and the better mid-range, seat of pants dyno with missus on board confirms this :D

Just for info is that my bike has been fettled by BMW and this was confirmed on the dyno. More HP but a crap way of getting there. Maybe not valid comments regarding Euro 4 but I'm sure this is what you will hear from most owners who took their bikes to be looked at.

Although you’re planning to go the Hilltop route (for the 4th time), you can get a guaranteed richer AFR using an AF-XIED. I’ve measured the AFR boost on many bikes, including my own 1150RT, 1150GS and 1200RTW.

And when you sell the bike you can take it with you and put it on your next BMW!

From what I saw on their website it’s not recommended for post 14 bikes due to ecm changes ?

I'd read that on here somewhere as well otherwise I would probably go down that route

Roger, do you have experience of a hilltoped bike? If not, your comments can be read somewhere else.

Euro4 MY17 GS before/after. Dyno printout provided by Hilltop.

If I read that printout correctly the post-remap torque numbers have gone up from 30ft/lb to nearly 70ft/lb at just over 2,000rpm - sounds feasible...

Thread closed before the original Question gets lost.

Thanks to those who replied. I’ll be breaking open the piggy bank :D
