Historical motorcycle photo's we thought you might find interesting.

Case in point the Ripple II Norton (greatly improved from the original Ripple I'm sure) with an Army Surplus water canteen serving as fuel tank. And think about how heavy motorcycle boots are. Ripple II's pilot uses penny loafers instead. Much lighter. This photo from the old Stardust International Raceway in Las Vegas in 1967.

that's really cool. I'll bet a 441 was pretty good for the job in 1970 a friend of mine has one but it's been sitting for 50 years - literally. can't believe someone made a connection to that pic right down to a specific rider!
History can be like that, don’t you agree 👍

Coincidences

He was a great rider, in enduro and trials competition

George lives in the next town, about 6/7 miles away and he’s in our TRF bike club

I ride with him a couple of times a year and that reminds me, we must get out on the trails in Spring

Freddie Spencer's and Mike Kidd's racers shot together at Ascot Park in 1981. Freddie's Honda (left) was the early CX500-based machine, while Kidd's was the Yamaha XV750-based rig. Two very cool experiments that had a lot of work put into them, yet never enjoyed that much success.

The CX500 motor turned through 90 degrees and converted to chain drive.
