Historical motorcycle photo's we thought you might find interesting.

Case in point the Ripple II Norton (greatly improved from the original Ripple I'm sure) with an Army Surplus water canteen serving as fuel tank. And think about how heavy motorcycle boots are. Ripple II's pilot uses penny loafers instead. Much lighter. This photo from the old Stardust International Raceway in Las Vegas in 1967.

That’s a Triumph engine.

A great day for BSA. 1950 outside the Boardroom steps at the end of Armoury Road. From l to r. Bill Nicholson with the Skefco Gold Cup he won for best solo in the British Experts Trial, Tom Whittington (BSA Works Manager), Harold Tozer and Jack Wilkes with the Palmer Trophy for best sidecar in the British Experts Trial and George Savage (BSA Sales Manager). At this time BSA was the biggest manufacturer of motor cycles in the world.

Jack Wilkes is my great grandad 😊 I’ve started trying to compile more pictures, articles and information on him recently too- so if you happen to find any more, please let me know!
Love this whole thread though, some really cool shots in here 👌
