Hmmm Main Dealers attempt to capture more of the older market

CW's run this in conjunction with a winter service discount which ISTR runs from Oct - Jan/Feb. They are always cheaper than the independants and throw in a loan bike and an ACF50 winter treatment to boot!

Warranty isn't an issue as long as the bike is serviced according to BMW's schedule using genuine parts by a professional dealer or service centre. We have been servicing bikes in warranty for years & it has never been an Problem.
I have a customer who bought a new Ducati 1198SP which I have serviced from new, he now keeps it at his house in London so he can use it for track days over there. 2nd gear gave up, so he took it to Metropolis in London where he bought it, who told him there was no warranty because it wasn't serviced by a Ducati dealer, that is what it says in Ducati's warranty policy. He phoned Ducati customer service & they told the dealer to fix it.
I have also had the same thing with new KTM's, says one thing in the hand book, but when it comes down to it, they will not reject a warranty claim as long as the bike has been serviced correctly.

Looking for an 1150 recently I called Duffy's (on their instant chat) and asked the girl to see if they had a used 1150 GS ? She came back to me a few minutes later saying that there was none in stock due to not being able to offer warranty on them :blast.
 
They changed it Brian

The Loop that they put into the ruling is that you need to be "VAT registered"

Keeps hobbyists and enthusiasts like me outside their "Business"

Its more about trusting the person working on yer bike rather than the money. Ya better not start charging me Dealer rates now :blast
