I've got a tiny tear about 3mm in my seat, its to small to have the seat re-covered and yet it bothers me that it may grow if left untreated.

I've searched this forum and googled for vynil repairs but they all come up with patch suggestions, is there a glue of some sort that will seal and mend the hole?

Thanks for any help.

Any luck mate?

Nope.

Well its ya own fault, you should've asked a question about the type of oil to use or what type of tyres, round or square.

Yeh I know, only myself to blame, but I did come across this stuff called Amazing Goop.

I know, I'll start a thread related to oil and stick the question," is Amazing Goop any good at repairing a pin hole in vynil", but I'll spread the words out so they enter the readers mind subconsciously.

Halfords used to sell a kit for vinyl seat repairs.

But come to think of it, that was quite a while back.

1980s probably. Sorry. Not much help.

We used silicon sealant (clear), pushed into a hole in the seat of our Suzuki until it wouldn't take any more then smoothed over and excess cleaned off. Seemed to work.

Cheers for the replies :thumb

Amazing Goop is only available in America but I did find some stuff from Maplin online, made by BondLoc and called 'vynil plastic adhesive', but no reviews on the stuff.
Clear Silicon sounds like a good idea and it might just do the trick, think I'll phone T.Archer or Viking seats for any problems I may encounter with the stuff.

I had a similar problem on a previous bike. If you glue it you will find that the small hole will be OK. BUT what happens is that the glue tends to rip the vinyl around the outside of the repair. This can lead to even worse damage.
best bet is to get it recovered, and remember if water gets in the hole it can lead to damage of the foam filling.
