Bit stormy alright, pretty much all ferries tonight on the Irish Sea are now cancelled. Apparently they are calling for winds of 80 - 100mph.

A Seatruck vessel that should have left Heysham this morning for Warrenpoint is still sitting over there and the sailing scheduled for tonight has just now been withdrawn. Our planned deliveries tomorrow are now all up the left and will have to be rescheduled for Friday but I'll be on my way to San Francisco then and won't be giving a fuck.

Blown away

Shannon and Cork airports closed, Aer Arann plane blown over at Shannon, M8 motorway closed with overturned lorries, 12 mile tailback into Mallow. 260,000 homes without power.
Roofs blown off, walls and trees blown down.
Started to easy down around Limerick at 15h00 as the storm moves eastward. Bit of a slalom to get home through the fallen trees.

Calm here now but a lot of damage done - the most intense winds from 12 to 3 - a lot of roofs taken off & & no power for most of the day.

Just back to the cold after a blissful 7 weeks in Spain out riding every day.
We had 2 nights in a car park at Cherbourg terminal car park waiting for a sailing, it was great tucked up in our RV with a gale blasting outside.
Driving one night in north France was one of the worst storms I have experienced for a long time i was glad i had 4 tons of US steel under me.
It feels strange to be stuck indoors not being able to step out for a walk or hop onto the bike.
