Non GS I'm am afraid, but.
we are flying to Inverness need recomendation for accomodation nearby loch ness (north end).
then Fort william area,
then isle of Mull/Iona,
booked Ballacchulish hotel for last night
then flyhome from Glasgow
also must see's on route in hire car

Urquhart Castle is worth a visit. Make sure you see the multimedia presentation before looking around the castle. Once you see it you will understand why

Stayed here with a load of GSers a few years ago in Ft William, easy walk into the town from there...

the clansman hotel is very good ! i have stayed there several times and it was consistently good (top end of loch ness)

All of the Isle of Mull is worth seeing. However, if you're going down to Iona, take the last road on the left in Fionnphort (it's pronounced finnafort or thereabouts), that'll take you to Knockvologan (Nockvoologan) keep going when you get to the 90 deg left hand bend at the farm at Knockvologan and keep going to the end of the road at Fidden. You'll need to go through a metal gate but that's ok so long as you close it again. The very end of the road is at a house. Pass the time of day with.....I forget his name...if he's about. Go past the house on the left and down the rocky path to the beach. With any luck you'll find that you have this all to yourself....

Try Lovat Arms Hotel in Fort Augustus. Good grub and friendly staff. Plenty to see and do around Fort Augustus.
