Hi all,

Looking for either of the above - ideally in good original condition, low miles, working order etc, but open to other condition.

Thanks!

I do like it to be fair, used to have a 250 version. But just the above for the moment
Yes.
Prices for these trail bikes are reaching "silly " levels e.g. up to £10k !!!
They are VERY small and lightweight compared to todays equivalent machines
GOOD luck with your search

XT600 ?

Pity you didn’t ask earlier 🙈

Just sold my two XR400’s in last 2 months - one estart and the other kickstart

Been out on mine today for the first time since buying it 4 years ago from a forum member.
Been stood in the corner waiting..
Got it out, drained the Aspen fuel out , fresh E10, sixth kick and away she went, runs lovely .
Just carried out the following maintenance work.
Rear swing arm off, the normal seized in engine casing bolt came straight out with just a few to and fro movements with my windy gun👍
All needle bearings seals etc all good , regreased all moving parts with waterproof grease then reassembled.
New wheel bearings front and rear with new spacers and new seals.
New brake pads and fluid front and back.
Steering head bearings checked and regreased.
Fork oil changed to 5w
Engine oil and filter plus oil screen checked ( spotless clean)
New air filter.
Mot with no advisories
Ridden 225 km today with no problems, nice and soft plush ride with all the adjusters slackened off .. sadly not yet for sale but what a great bike Honda made there .
Starting procedure that works for me is … petrol on, choke on full, hold decompression lever and kick it over 12 times release lever then find the sweet spot with the kick start until you feel it go to a close double bump, get full travel on the lever then kick right through, do take a little while to warm up though.
Mine runs lovely
Good luck with your search mines a keeper for now until I can’t kick it over ….
