Seeing as I seem to be in France more and more and am an avid fan of using the Logis website I though I'd put up some recommendations based on my experience to date. Its all subjective of course and this is also why I dont include costs of stays and food other than to add if they are OK in my mind. This is totally subjective and some might scoff at paying EURO 100 per night and another EURO 45 for a dinner menu. That I leave up to others to decide but it might help bods choosing somewhere suitable to stay. I also have a page on my own website on how to use the Logis website to get the most out of it.
I always go for the blue color coding for restaurant as this is part of my search criteria. Good food to me is part of the tour.
Here are some tips from mine & TimeandTide's current travels in France and some from before:

Chateau des Torrelles, Le Wast, Northern France. This place is due East of Bologne sur Mer about 20km in the small village of Le Wast.
Nice comfortable rooms and the menus are very good. In my mind a great location for those just arriving from or about to head back to UK. Recommended and in line with the Logis colour coding for both restaurant and accommodation. Parking was easy and right in front of the hotel

Le Bellevue, Villerville, Normandy. This hotel is located just south of Honfleur about 9 km along the coast and just north of Deauville. Superb rooms with beautiful views overlooking the bay however the restaurant in my mind was not so good and not worthy of the blue Logis rating and a shame as the rooms really were spectacular. Parking also very easy right outside the main entrance.

Hotel de l'Abbaye, Ferrirers. Located in a small village about 100 km south east of the outskirts of Paris this very unassuming hotel had a real hidden gem - the restaurant. Rooms very simple and hotel looked a bit like an old fashioned motorway stop over but adjoining the small hotel was the restaurant - Le Cheval Blanc. Food was outstanding as was the service. Top traditional French fare. So despite the hotel being a bit basic topper for the food. Parking also fine right outside the hotel front door.

Chateau de la Marolaine. Located about 3 km south West of the town of Chateau-Thierry in Champagne along the Marne river. A bit tricky to find and the location is on the banks of the river. Hotel itself from the outside looks tired but the rooms were superb and comfortable. Simple menu was included in room rate or you could go for the a la carte menu. Good value for money in my mind and worthy of it Logis rating for both accommodation and food. Parking was a nightmare. About 100 yards down from the hotel down a steep unpaved road and basically in the back garden. We asked to move the bikes to the hotel forecourt. Not for the faint-hearted!

Le Cour de Remi. An old favourite of mine. Located in the village of Bermicourt due east of the town of Hesdin and about 100km south of Calais. Has appeared in other threads and also has a mention of its own. I love the place. Superb large rooms and a great but simple restaurant. Parking is right outside the front entrance and worthy of a visit. Lovely and quiet. Accommodation is sightly higher than average but the restaurant compensates in its reasonableness

more to follow in a later post.......
