Over over over tightened oil filter...

Have done the special tool, but but but...



It twisted a 4,5mm steel just like it was a marshmallow...



And yes I was right in the sense of unscrewing.






I straightened it up and will weld two other pieces on each side this afternoon, trying to make it stronger.


Any other inputs?

Line filter tool with sheet of sandpaper or wet & dry, hit the tool into place on filter, with long bar hold a strong constant pressure and the filter will give after a while .. do a search, this method has been successful many times over the years

Thanks for your input Steptoe. With my reinforced tool, it finally came out.




This was a Champion oil filter, the two screws are M5.
