How bloody nice is the new F900.

At the risk of giving an opinion .. I like it, engine area is a bit 'messy' but I think the styling is well balanced and it looks like a bike with purpose (I also like the 890r BTW - seriously impressive machine) ... rode the f900 GS about a week ago at Bahnstormer, Maidenhead. It was the more road biased job in the luminous 'passion' colour scheme .. I found it to be a great package, nice pick-up and fueling, clutch was good, quickshifter was excellent. Handling was solid and it felt very nimble, certainly felt less than 205 KGs. Hoping to get some time on one offroad at ORS in Wales next month.

I spoke to my local indy bike dealer near Inverness about the F900XR, to quote him

They are crap and I won't have another in the shop again. Said they sound like a bag of spanners

Well Si Pavey has 12 on the fleet this year.
He had 12 750’s.
12 800’s.
2 850’s.

He likes the 900.

I have an 850 in the garage. It sounds like a bag of spanners. Find me a parallel twin that doesn't.

For what it's worth (and by way of a bit of balance) I have ridden it on dirt and tarmac across Africa and the length of South America. It has yet to go wrong. Still, if your indy dealer is to be believed, I'm sure it will break down next time out...

Same as that except it's an Adventure but all told I'm very happy with it after 2.5 years of ownership

I'm interested to see the 900GS in the flesh. I've ridden the 900XR & even had an order in before I bought the 850 but the semi-conductor shortage meant they couldn't give me a delivery date. Hence I bought the 850. But I think my next new bike, & probably my last one, will be one of the 900s but not the Adventure version

I was interested in comparing it with my very noisy 850 GS Adventure, which does sound like a bag of loose spanners when I don't have earplugs in.
The F900 GS was decidedly quieter, lighter handling, quicker and smoother, however the manual suspension on the test model was not comparable to the electronic suspension of my GSA, but that was the only thing I could fault with it.
If I change then I will need to add the eleccy suspenders to the rear.

Not bad for a Chinese bike is it !!

Indeed and only £4000 more than its sister offering, from Loncin’s Voge

I've stopped posting my opinions and stick to hard facts backed up by evidence or my personal experience.

Had my 900GS for a few weeks now and have compared to both my mates 890 and 790. Frankly not much in it though the ktms extra fuel capacity is useful. IMG_0840.jpeg

Comfort is good and your backside and back last longer than a tank of fuel easily.

Can’t say I love the parallel twin on any of them, it does the job, GS might be a bit smoother.

The exposed gubbins on the lower of the GS needs covering , Ktms tank lower and protection make it look much better.
