The old chrome coating was removed and the ss was polished with different brushes and polish stuffs. No, I didn't done the job myself, the job was done by an inox ss shop. I don't know how long will keep this nice shiny look. Probably no longer than 10 min. after the engine will be hot
You are possibly correct but then I'd rather clean my headers once in a while as opposed to reading and replying to threads on topics that don't interest me. I find polishing the headers therapeutic. It certainly stops me wasting my time on topics I have no interest in.
NOT ON MINE, they were polished stainless, so are they chrome or is this more bullsh*t on here. Please see my other post. I am on an anti bullsh*t mission. Wrong information is not a good thing, I was always taught that if you are in any doubt, then say so. " I think they are chromed stainless" is good. " they are chromed stainless on the 1150`s" is not so good. Ta

I took them to an expert chromer, Prestige who work on a lot of restoration for expensive classic bikes and cars
They checked them and told me that they were chromed stainless and no can do, by them.
They said they would need a nickel strike, to chrome stainless steel
They were off a 2005 1150GSA bike, which crosses over with the 12GS model range and you can get chromed headers for 1200's, as an option.
On 1200's all pipes are stainless, however some are chromed stainless - so it would be more than probable that they were chroming stainless headers on late 1150GSA's
