I've got a web cam like this:
WCM-6LNV.JPG

But I can't find the disk that came with it, so I can't install it on my new PC. It doesn't seem to have a brand - even though there seems to be load of places selling them.

I've even found it on Amazon

Auto-detect hardware doesn't find the right drivers. googling EW-Link does help.
Anybody got a suggestion.

Try THIS

It will probably ask for a fee to actually obtain te driver, but it should tel you the name of the driver itself and then you can google it.

Under control panel/system/devices, what does does the webcam get identified as???

You could also try the Phillips chipset generic drivers..they'll probably work :)

I've plugged things like this into my Linux box and used tools (lsusb etc) to query the device to find things like the chipset - then it's google to track down a driver.

Jimbo....I hope you're going to the hog raost 'cos mine's a pint of wifebeater and Rosie will have a nice glasss of red please :)

Your camera is made by Kinamax, and it's officially a "WCM-6LNV"

Download the zip file below, save it into a place you can find easily then point the add hardware wizard at it .

EDIT...For some reason, the zip file won't upload...the url it's at is http://www.kinamax.com/drivers/wcm-6lnv.zip
