I should change this
How does one go about finding an address on the Quest 1 when it doesn't have a number e.g. The Old Vicarage or Fairview or the like?

I usually look it up on Google ...most of the places I go to are nursing homes so they usually have a reference somewhere...I just type in the name and the word 'map' after it and 50% of the time I hit lucky.......I can then transfer the location from the web map to Mapsource.
A bit of lateral thinking often works as well......'Parkview Nursing home'.....I look along the road on Mapsource and make my WP on the bit of road nearest a patch of green.......a vicarage, make your WP next to a church etc ........
Otherwise, just enter '1' as the house number and start at the end of the street then drive along it.......unless you have a contact number for the address, it's about all you can do.
I visit 4 or 5 sites a day, and at least 1 a day doesn't have a proper addy......It's spooky though..when I was employed, I couldn't find several...now I'm self employed, I find every single one of them without much aggro![]()

Once you have the LR grid ref key that into the quest and job done you have the WP.

Having found the Grid Reference how do I key it into the Quest1.
I need to borrow a five year old to show me.

[/edit]Well, I never knew that!sherpa said:... might be worth reminding peeps that street numbering in the UK starts from the town centre and radiates outwards.
IOW if its no. 1 it'll be at the town / city end of the street and if it's 400 it'll be a way out.
