It's 140x113 at the mo and I need to get it down to 110x110.

Got Irfanview if that's any help

I don't think Irfanview can do it :(

An animated GIF file is made up of layers and you will need something like Photoshop (costly), PaintShopPro(free use for a limited period) or some other image editor.

The requirement is to edit the individual layers of an image and reduce the size of each one.

You could try looking here for suitable software to download.

Good luck,

Iain

If you go to GIFWorks you can use their online editor.
You will see some animated gifs with a link to "Edit with GIFWorks".
Click on that...
Go to FILE >>FILE OPEN
On the right hand side it will give you the option to open a file on your harddrive.
Browse and then upload the file.

Go to "EDIT >>Resize/Crop>>Resize

Enter the size you want.

The go to FILE>>SAVE... pick method 2 to save to your hard drive again.Let me know if you have a problem...

btw.. it's free...

Resized it fine - now too big at 56000 odd. 20000 limit for this site.

Well, it was gonna be this, but I'll find something else;

Jon. I've resized further and reduced the number of colours...

It may not be good enough though, or too small.... up to you.

Thanks for that :thumb

Kinda loses the impact tho, so I'll keep what I've got for now.

Camtasia Studio is the bells and whistles biz for fine tuning anything you can see moving on your screen down to the bandwidth sparing minimum.......if you've got bells and whistles amounts of dosh.

Had to cut some frames to keep the quality reasonable and slow the middle frames down slightly, eventually got this.....

I was alright with a 62 kb Gif when resized to a 28kb, but when i tried a 214k gif to a 100k it said the kb where to big and its limit for size was 400kb?
So it was well inside the limit but said the file was to big?
Any ideas

What happened exactly?
Did GIFWorks allow you to load and open the file?
If it did, how did you try and reduce the file size? by reducing the physical dimensions or by reducing the colour palette? or something else?

If you want to post the file up here I'll have a play if you like.
I don't have any gifs on my machine of that size..

I'm no expert on using it but have just used it to reduce down some avatar type sized animated gifs so that they were a bit smaller....

No, I got as far as Browse and then uploaded it but it did not uploaded but then it said to big you must keep it under 400kb well it was only 214kb?

And yet it seems if i keep it under 200kb and re-size lower its ok.

So its strange that its under 400 and yet it is to high. Maybe you can try one about 300kb , maybe copy one from google or something and try yourself, see whether its me or not.

thanks for your help
