Hi all,

How do I 'yellow out' certain figures on the number plate, on a picture of a bike I wish to sell?

Thanks all,

Rabbit Leader

If you can't do it through Photoshop or some other sort of image manipulation softwear, then gaffa tape before you take the pic :thumb

I've never understood why someone bothers to do this. When you park it in the street someone can note down the number to clone the plate.

If someone wants to tie in your plate to your phone no. then all they have to do is phone you and ask for the no. to do a HPI check. Would you risk losing a sale because someone wanted to do this before travelling 200 miles to see your bike?

I actually think making the plate fully visible in the advert is an advantage to the seller and buyer. It displays an "I have nothing to hide attitude" and allows the buyer to make some checks before bothering to phone you.

A masked plate can send out negative signals: if the advert is vaguely worded then a masked plate might indicate that the bike pictured is not the one on sale or that the advertiser is a dealer with more than one ZZRCBRGSX on sale.

I use microsoft's photo premium, really easy to use - well it to be for me

lets touch up  your photos

Thanks!

Thanks to all of you.... Actually I like Wessie's idea, it seems honest. After all I wouldn't travel 200 miles without knowing the number for a check.. :spitfire

Tell you something funny though.... I once saw a bike being ridden down the road with the last three letters covered in tape.... Everyone presumes he was taking pic's of the bike after washing it, then was just popping to the petrol station..... But maybe he used that excuse for three years when stopped? :nono

You've gotta keep an immaculate bike at all times though, for this to work!

Thanks again all, :thumb
