OK, so my PC gets a virus and dies
So, now I've got a nice sparkling new one :D
But, having downloaded itunes I can't figure out how to transfer the library in the ipod into itunes !
I've got my account up and running (changed details to new e-mail address etc.) but the only option I get when I try to sync is to erase the current library and replace it with the non-existent one in the new PC!

Now I'm stuck

You can't. (officially).

You should copy the library from the old computer you synchronized you ipod with.

Or do a search on this site, I explained it a while ago. It won't take that long once you get your head around it.

Then go out and buy an external HD for tuppence and copy the music there too.

Assuming that you`ve downloaded I-Tunes onto your new computer, you then download "Music Rescue" (link below), its free by the way.

Music Rescue will then allow you to download the contents of your I-Pod into your new I-tunes. Its REALLY easy to use.
I had the same problem and was adviced to use Music Rescue by a fellow tosser and it worked a treat.

now, I'm ready for a few miles with some toooooons :thumb

looks like a great piece of software - exactly what I've been looking for for ages.
I've transferred libraries from one laptop to another over the years and songs are missing from the main iTunes library and I'd love to be able to replace my iTunes library with what's on my iPod which has it completely - this looks like it might do the trick!
