How good is your helmet?

I've just come across this Government website, which aims to show how well helmets have performed in the 'ultimate test'

they cant even get the correct model VS photo, correct so doesnt inspire confidence

I've heard concerns that said simulated tests performed by that body are not representative of typical impact and stress likely to be encountered under real conditions. I've also heard it said that makers of "cheaper" helmets know exactky where to add additional strengthening/padding etc to pass these tests with flying colours (as the impact points are very specific/isolated).

But I'm no expert in such matters....

I wouldn't worry too much, a correct fitting helmet is better than a SHARP approved lid that doesn't fit in the right places. Besides, if there is loads of impact... you'll probably break your neck anyway
