I have had mine since Sept. 04 but it was 2nd hand!! I still paid full list price for it, as you could not get them anywhere. It had 760 miles on the clock. I thought i was buying something a little rare and exclusive. I've always had that sort of good timing!!! (Thanks Charlie/Ewan) However, it's now got 54.5k on the clock. Over 43k of those miles were 2 up with full luggage !!

The BMW dealer can tell you what number your one is off the production line (with a bit of digging aound on their system). Mine was 1936 off the production line.

My bike went in for its 54k service and I had on 08 1200gs version to ride. What a difference in smoothness. It's the first time I thought about replacing my bike in four years!

Done 30,000 and still drinking oil. In fairness now down from 500mls/1000 miles to 250mls/1000 miles.

Too long......pick up my new Honda Blackbird next Saturday.

You will love it. I have an 1150 GSA bought new in 05. In December I also bought a new Blackbird, which has been in the garage since. Well, the weekend just gone was my first chance to ride the Blackbird.

Its an awesome bike - very different to the GS - not necessarily better just different. If you like fast and smooth then you will be happy with the blackbird.

I first got my GS. in oct 07,it had 12k on the clock,it now has 30k,it goes realy well,only things I have had to renew were the left side switch gear,and from yesterday my outer rear seal has sprung a leak,but they all do that!!!!

Theres a few folk on here with early 12`s but have you had it from new? Mine is an October 1st 2004 that I`ve had from spanking new I have toyed with other bikes but with being a big lad some I want I can`t fit on and I`m not spending £5k and my bike for a new 12

In fact I don`t think theres anyone who`s had their 12GS for as long as I`ve had mine
