Hello cheery GSer,s, I am looking for some info regarding the continuing availability of the 1150ADV.
I have a Honda Blackbird at the moment, but am seriously considering trading it for a new 1150, and fully joining the covan!

My dilemma is that I probably wont be in a position too complete a deal for another couple of months. Do any of you know if this model will remain available in the UK
up to its alleged replacement by the 1200ADV.

Also (as I am here!javascript:smilie(':D')) Does the limited edition version that they have just released represent value for money or would you be better adding the extras on yourself?

Humble thanks for your indulgence!

1200 ADV is no further than the rumour stage. People claim to have seen it, and people claim to have heard BWM people saying what a great bike it's going to be. My (uneducated) guess would be that the 1200 ADV will be introduced at either the Milan or the German bike show, which are both in the winter. I reckon you're going to be safe for at least 6 months.

In fact, it might even be worth your while waiting until the 1200 ADV is introduced. There are likely to be a number of 1150s left on dealers floors, which they will want to get rid of at a bit of a discount. But the risk is you won't be able to get the exact bike you want.

Word on the special edition is that bike will cost half of what the extras included normally cost. But for some inexplicable reason, people seem very keen on these bikes and they might sell out quite quickly (limited edition and all that). Personally, I think the white looks awful (white is not a good colour for vehicles), and would go for the much prettier black ADV, or otherwise the boring, but allegedly faster*, silver one.

(* the only people who claim that the silver ADV is faster are the people who own them, so we may have reason to doubt their veracity on this one).

Thanks for the reply, it takes the pressure off, and allows me some more time to work on SWMBO!

Is there any significance to the white version,(race/competion etc), or did the paintshop have it left over from a job lot of police bikes?javascript:smilie(':D')

The white one is an anniversary edition (25 years of GSes), limited edition, and all very well if you like that sort of thing.

no longer "specable"

I was told by my dealer in the last couple of weeks that the GSA is no longer spec amendable - the only one available is the white one with fixed spec, which does represent vfm if you want all the bits (inc the god awful servo brakes :barf ) After that there MAY be more but no-one except BM knows, so if you want a new one you may be left out in the cold.

On another side as has already been aluded to there may be some sitting out there in the "less popular" dealers showrooms.

I was going to wait till early 06 when I'd initially been led to believe the GSA was going on until, but after conflicting/unsure info I decided it was not worth the risk of missing one.

Had mine a month now - and she's a beaut :D

Ya takes yer chance

Good luck

Ade

Best bet is to phone round a few dealers, see what they have to say.

I wouldn't get too stressed about it....WHen the 1200adv comes out, there are going to be a fair few S/H advs with low lies on them up for grabs.......you might well end up with a beaut of a bike for less than a new one right now, with the toys as well (many things don't fit the 1200 series because of the canbus/different panels etc etc.
