Don't want to go in to too much detail at this stage but I could really do with some feedback in regard to how many fellow Tossers have a Zumo 550 fitted to their 1200 GS or GSA.

Have you had any issues with your GS as a result of fitting the Zumo ?

look forward to your replies.

Thanks in advance

Have a zumo fitted to my 1200 GSA since April. Two european trips done since then and not a problem from the Zumo or the Bike:thumb2 .

I also have had the 550 fitted to GSA since April......Wired it directly to the battery with no problems......mounted to the screen brace via a mvg lockable touratech mount.Absolutely brilliant bit of kit....way better than tomtom rider I had previously.:thumb2

Had my 550 fitted on my 1200 since last November and apart from losing the magnetic cover that fits over the mountin bracket to protect the pins there have been no problems with either the unit or the bike.

Have it wired through a Sentach fuse panel.

Same as the above that has broke off.

Had mine for 8 months now fitted with to the left side of the bars with the mount that comes with it, love it aprt from it losing all its memory last week and wiping out all my fave destinations.

I have one on my 1200 GSA since april. Great GPS and great bike. No problem at all except the magnetic cap that has broken but it was changed at no cost by the belgian importer...

Zumo 550 and 1200GSA

I've had mine fitted since late Feb via a Migsel mount to a Touratec lockable bracket, It's a great piece of kit, no trouble until Sunday past when I noticed the music was skipping a little when going quite hard over rough bumpy tarmac in Donegal. Never did that before.:(

Apart from that, I love it, no trouble with the maps or routing, a big improvment over the BMW Navigator (SPIII) I had fitted to the 1150GSA.:D

Fitted mine 3 weeks ago wired directly to battery + using a migsel mount no problems so far apart from speach volume being a bit low at high speed.

I have one since my Quest gave up the gost and what a tool it is, I wired it straight to the battery via a 2.5 amp fuse since there is so much hasstle with the aux socket (one of the firstthings that I changed when I first bought the Bike).

I mounted the Zumo with the ram mount that comes with it to a Misgel mount and it works great with a lttle bit of vibration but I can live with that and one of the best investments yet I just dont use all of its functions at all.

Anyway have I ranted enough for now?

I'm about to shell out on a Zumo 550 for my GSA 12 but I wondered whether I can mount it in the cross-bar behind the screen or does it need to be positioned on the bars? I've got an auxiliary power socket on the left of the fairing but people seem to be hard-wiring to the battery? Any particular reason? Is the socket unsuitable? I've never yet had to use it y'see.

I have one mounted with the stock ram on the bar behind the instrument cluster. Direct to battery via powerlet adapter so always have power. Have doen several long trips - excleent. Bluetooth is great too.
