Thank you very much !!

So,is it really steady ??

If you have any more pics, please do upload them. Thank you so much

I mean when you get inot the site,it shows with the adv screen and bracket..

Thank you !! :)

This is the Adv version.

It is mounted to windscreen bracket. The GS doesn't have the 2nd upper bracket.

The version pictured earlier is mounted to that lower plate with the 4 holes in it

I have my Zumo mounted in the same place as Damir (see earlier positing) and it works like a dream. I have done app 5000 miles so far and zero issues. Some were on extremely technical and rough roads. The location is excellent as it is just above the speedo (in fact I tend to use the Zumo as a speedometer now) in line of sight and easily reachable and its the standard Zumo mount - no extra cash spent on a new mount. I installed an extra power point up fornt connectesd direct to battery (powerlet harness) so don't have a switched feed (no Canbus problems). The bluetooth works like a dream with my starcom unit and Nokia phone.

Cheers

I am probably being dense (nothing new there :blast ) , but if the RAM mount supplied with the 550 works OK, why do people buy different mounts ?

If it's just aesthetics then fine but I was wondering id there are any operability reasons ?.

I am just on the point of buying a Zumo 550 (if I can swallow the price tag !)

Aesthetics, really, as you say. I wanted mine to look as close to OE as possible and the Motorradconcepts mount works well, and looks good, and the position above the clocks is perfect.

The latest Hein Gericke catalogue has an SW-Motech cradle for the tomtom and various Garmin systems that fits to the bars between the clamps. Looks semi decent. £29.99

Heck why spend hard earned money when you don't have to - aesthetically the std Garmin mount looks like it belongs on the bike. What more do you want ? And it works 100%.

I agrre with you. I have ordered a Zumo and should get it after the weekend. I think the standard mount looks great on the 1200. And if it works good as you say it does, why change it? Looks great!!!

For now I am very satisfied with my standard mount (see pics on first page). At the end of April I am going to Tunisia, that will be the real test. For now, it looks OK (IMHO), works OK, and there are no extra costs. :augie

Cheers Damir.

I've ordered my Zumo so I'll be going with the standard mount too.

Thanks for the pics.
