I think the biggest issue that results from your home servicing is that your local BMW dealership and BMW Motorrad UK are unlikely to look very favourably upon any goodwill claim which you might want to make for a component failure when your bike is out of its 2 year warrant period.
However, I don't think that would prevent you from being able to sell the bike on at the right price.

), i paid the money because it has the full bmw history, all the toys and boxes (important as most seam to get sold with out them) and to be honest at the time i couldnt find one much cheaper think i saw two for sale for around 9k at the time but neither had panniers and where at the same mileage or higher, and when the dealer gives a years warranty and free bmw recovery throughout Europe it kinda sways you.
