Does anyone have a list of current retail prices (or better still, real negotiated prices as of Jan 2010) for the following?

1. BMW own alloy panniers for GSA
2. Touratech new alloy panniers (the ones with the black plastic bits)
3. Touratech original alloy panniers
4. Metal Mules (with handles and feets)

Thanks in advance :thumb2

Surely you already have a favourite in your head - go for them :thumb2

I really don't think you are going to be swayed by price :rob

Al :D

That's a business opportunity there :idea

You are probably right there, but to be economical you will need to order a container load and pay cash or letter of credit (which is cash plus bank charges) up front with your order and then the carriage, freight, customs, unloading and storage of your stock. Check out the prices, but there will no doubt be a pretty healthy margin at the end of it.

Maybe a way out of your 'where to live' dilemma. With a nice little business like this, you could live somewhere cheap and still make good money. Why not ask them for a sample to see if the stuff is any good and pricing to see what the margin is?

PM me if you want - I deal with guys who manufacture out in the Far East and we bring containers in sometimes. We deliver the containers to a local haulage / storage operation and they unpack and ship out.

Richard,

Toms from Slough ( prenounced slar ) and speaks cockenee innit :D

I always though it was pronounced Sluff, As in, "I have seen enough of Sluff in the last five minutes to last me a lifetime".

There again, it does fit nicely with the Slough of Despond, as made famous by John Bunyan's 'The pilgrim's progress'.

Sluff is how posh people like me pronounce it.

Slar is how the youth of today pronnounce it.

Not even a pilgrim could make progress there now with all those roundabouts and traffic lights.

BMW prices
panniers £579.23
top box £402.46
inner bags £137.95 for panniers + £68.97 for top box

Just wondering if I should be considering others like Ard Cases

Actually

Slough is a bog, as in Merry Wives of Windsor with 'a slough of mire near Eton'. Quire apt really.

The slough pronounced sluff is the skin a snake sheds.

At all times happiness is Slough in your rear view mirror:clap

...or Betjeman's "come, friendly bombs, and drop on Slough, it isn't fit for people now..."
