My 4 year old son (1150MILLIMETERSANDSTOCKY) Sat on my bike today and pulled the front of the front seat straight out of the two retaining "mouldings" that hold the seat in place. The two that fit into the longitudinal bar used to adjust the height.
I did not tell him off, but I did get very angry at Mr BMUU for providing a cheap shite engineering solution. Had I chosen to do so I could have easily hinged the seat up and nicked/damaged whatever was under the seat in the shite little space provided.
I do not wish to be provocotive, however, BMUU seem to have built a bike down to a "high" price rather than up to a "high" specification. I personally find a lot of the detail on the GS of a lesser quality than I would like/expect to see.
My memory of my last BMUU, an R80 used for despatch riding in the late 80's is that of a bike that was more solidly built.
Am I expecting too much?
On this point was the seat on the older GS better engineered?
My Fat Boy seat has two allen head bolts and a very big steel tongue to hold it in place. (only removeable with tools).
On a positive note the bike is comfortable and fast enough.
Bonjour.
