I am about to do a 24k service on 2003 GSA that recently had a blocked filler cap drain. Whilst I am about changing the fuel filter I would like to completely drain the tank to make sure there is no water in it. Is there a technique to get the last litre of fuel out either before or after I remove the tank?
Many thanks
James

Take off the balance pipe. That'll drain all but a bit out.

For that last bit don't bother with it. Just fuel with somedry fuel. That'll shift the remaining water. Failing that use the tube your going to make your homemade man-o-meter from to drain the fuel from the tank syphon style.

aye.. thats all I do. a can of WYNNS 'dry fuel' every spring to get rid of any water thats got in over the previous year.. winter.

You can make a hose that connects to the return feed, put the new bit of hose into a container and start your bike. The injection system then runs the excess fuel into the container and not back to the tank.
