The previous owner had Nav mounted on the bar and used Duct Tape to protect the metal, unfortunately when it came off it's pulled off some of the paint and it doesn't look great

It's not the end of the world but it's starting to bug me so what are my options?

Remove and repaint?
Get some nice tape to cover it up?
Buy a satnav and mount it there so I can't see it?
Man up and watch the road instead?

Cheers!

I used Simoniz silver wheel paint on mine. It is an exact match for the silver paintwork around the clocks etc. take it off a fine bit of wet and dry sand paper (wet) gently over it and then spray it.

I cannot see the difference even though I know I did it 😀

Great stuff, I'll get some of that if it matches.

I'm still trying to do the man maths to justify a satnav I don't need but this should help.

Thanks,

Phil

Obviously covering it with a sat nav is another, slightly more expensive, option.....

This is the can I used. It has been in my garage for years so new cans might look different. Even the dulled mating type finish is the same with this stuff. Just do several light 'dusting type' coats.

Note the tin lid looks glossy but without lacquer the finish will match your bike.

If the paint is cracked you may be better to have it dipped stripped and refinish it properly. It depends how much the grooved paint annoy you.

I probably doesn't need a pro painter but that OEM paint is very hard. A powder coat shop should have a dip tank and charge 2p for you to have them strip it for you. Hammerite sell an aluminium primer so it's all good.
