I've removed a 12GS tank before, so I was assuming it would be a similar routine--remove two securing bolts at front, two at rear, unhook two power and one fuel line from the left, unhook three fuel lines on right, then slide backwards.

But it seems to be stuck on the right hand front. Before I try brute force, is there anything I've forgotten?

I had the same problem - I found I had to remove the air filter snorkel - which to do that was a bit of brute force and twisting with the tank half lifted.
I had made sure the tank was nearly empty first.

Thanks for that Clive, tank now off.
Putting it all back is fun - you have to make sure the air filter doesn't get dislodged while refitting the snorkel while balancing the tank in the right place. Took me fecking ages :spitfire
