My 2610 has a preset feature that auto calculates a route "home" from where ever i may be. However, its my my home, but the previous owners home thats been programmed in!

How do I change it?

Probably a nicer way, but I created a Home waypoint in Mapsource and it sorted itself out whenever I updated the mapping/waypoints on the GPS.

to set home waypoint
press and hold menu button
route menu page appears
select either of current location, use map, find
once selected one of these, find your location (i.e. set this outside your house!)
...touch the OK button. A new waypoint page appears
from the new waypoint page, touch OK. Your new home waypoint is set

please note I resisted the temptation to say....

Set your 'Home' waypoint a few hundred yards away from where you actually live. Anyone who nicks your motor, your keys and your sat nav won't find it so easy to break into your drum.

In fact, if you have a neighbour who is a rozzer, set your 'Home' waypoint as their front door!

:D

It was such a good idea when Greg first mentioned it I set my home waypoint as HIS drum, can't be too careful and frankly if they want to go to Enfield may their God help them, a far better deterrent than a rabid rottweiller :D

This doesn't work. Doesn't even make sense.
"Route Menu Page" doesn't have current location/use map/find on it.
The end.
Maybe I'd better read the manual after all. Although it looks like you can no longer download it off garmin's website.

  1. stand outside your front door
  2. press and hold the 'Page/Mark' button
  3. rename the waypoint 'Home'

Job done!

Greg

exactly. I just did that and it seems to work ! I am actually moving house.
