How to spot a Twin Cam?

Clearly a very black frame just like mine. (not) And by the end of 2012, mine had done 35K of commutes into London.

Mine's black Bendy and has done more mileage than yours. Clearly there is something wrong with the paint on your bike - I get that. But to tar everyone elses bike with the same brush isn't really on is it? There may be issues with consistency in the manufacturing process or there may not, but at least recognise that there are bike's of the same year as yours that don't exhibit the same issues. We can only go on our own experiences, you have yours that's clear, but there are plenty of examples, on loads of threads on this site, of the opposite experience from your own.

Oh dear Ive touched a nerve. My bike is better tan your bike How sad.

No nerve touched at all - its just irritating that you think your bike's issues are common to all. My bike isn't better than yours but it isn't rusty either :D And the black coils haven't failed yet or the silver FPC :blast

Guys, I'm in the throws of shopping for a GS - and it's all rather confusing!

Visually how do I tell a Twin Cam from the previous model?

And Is this the same for a TC GSA too?

Thanks - Boner.

Easy it will be broken down at the side of the road, just ask the pissed off rider with it
