How windy is it by you??

Chased my wheelie bin down the road at the crack of dawn this morning as it tried to take off,got it back before it deposited its contents all over the place.Probably 50% of all bins lying in the road. Pity the bin men today!!

Oh just lost a couple of fence panels across the garden.:(

My neighbours complained last week that my conifers were cutting out their light (which they weren't, unless they meant moonlight)

I cut them down at the weekend, removing what was also an extremely effective wind-break.

The whole length of their 6 foot-high fence was destroyed this morning.

I laughed.

Went to get the milk in and very nearly flashed the neighbours..........me dressing gown was up round me neck cos of the wind..........lol ;)

As someone else said on this forum

This thread is nothing without pictures!:)

Ooops, should have read the other replies first.

Not too windy here but snowing steadily most of the morning

Extremely surprised to hear a helicopter fly very low over the house an hour ago......all the normal traffic spotter planes are gone and I've been hearing sirens on the motorway for several hours.....it's blowing a right hooley here!!!

If I'd have thought about it earlier I'd have gone down to Brighton with the camera.......storms + the coast are just amazing :thumb

the wind is really starting to pick up now..............just let my 2 springer spaniels out in the back garden............and bonnie the female.. just looked and me and came right back in and got back on the settee.........while clyde her brother is sat on the deckin in the wind...............i have to say that he aint the brightest of dogs.........

Did a 3 mile round trip at 11.30, slalom through wheelie bins, two lads trying in vain to close a building site hoarding, two trees down. Thelwall and Barton bridges are shut, so two of our wagons are attempting to return across country. One wagon has nearly had its door ripped off as the dipstick who drives it opened the door, our workshop roof is starting to disintigrate. We have closed the landfill as the tippers are not safe, the power has gone off twice and crashed the server, and I won't be able to get home as I live on the other side of the feckin ship canal.
Arse :spitfire :spitfire :spitfire
I blame global warming!

Still got a picture of Janie with her nightie round her neck stuck in my head though :D

Refined? That the same as being charged twice with the same offence?
If the offence is lechery, then I have to plead guilty!
Mark

And there was me thinkin GS ers where a more refined kind of biker........

You've not been here long have you??.....:)
But at least, you can have a good laugh with this lot...you certainly never have to worry about upsetting their finer sensibilities!!.....:D

P.S...And yes, it's blowing a gale down here too.....

Despite removing flags and header boards off the used car display a roof slate has just come off an adjoining building and smashed a windscreen and dented the "A" post. Had to nip round to fiancees house to retrieve garden furniture, patio heater and barbecue from next doors garden - all now put in living room - wait till she gets home:eek:
On the way back to work I witnessed an industrial wheely bin (1100 litre) zoom into a parked car, the M60 is littered with one of those advertising trailers and the house opposite the showroom has just had the barge boards ripped off its gable end and the debris has hit a van on Oldham Road.
Very hard to light a cigarette in this wind:D

This is whats left of a friends stables in Barnsley
and the horses were in them at the time it took off:eek:

It's still picking up here. I've just driven back from Stuttgart and the trucks currently need 2 lanes to stay staight ahead. Deutsche Bahn have reduced the maximum speed limit for the ICE trains from 300km/h to 200km/h (No, that's not a misprint and not a joke!). Half of the planes form Frankfurt have been cancelled ans we expect wind speeds of up to 160km/h to hit the Black Forest this evening, although they still don't think it'll be as bad as Hurricane "Lothar".

Wish I was still in my dressing gown at 10.50am Janie...:thumb

I've just run the gauntlet on my return from a meeting in Sheffield.. thankfully in my cage... saw 3 big trees down covering both sides of the A61, had to take a 10mile detour to find a way back to the M1..

Most alarming thing was a traffic light column bent in half  ... still working though...:thumb

Woohoo... take it steady out there guys n gals...

Fixed it for you!

Just helped my next door neighbour put his shed roof back on, took three of us and just in time it's lashing down now

Pity the bin men today!!

Over here ours have taken the door to door rubbish collection service to new levels. these guys were so keen they actually went into the house looking for rubbish. Now that's what I call service!

Nowt to do with the wind mind. This happened yesterday when someone forgot to put the handbrake on!!

My bike blew over, smashed through 2 garden fence panels and ended up next door. Took ages for the wife and kids to retrieve it.

Windy in Snowdonia, here's Llyn Ogwen today:eek:

It's been a tad breezy here all day and hardly stopped raining-perfect for hitting the beaches and tracks,as everybody was indoors :

I went out with a mate who has just got a Raptor 660 quad.

It was highly amusing to have him behind and gas the EXC in second and send a rooster tail his way on more than one occasion.I nearly fell off,I was laughing so much !!!!

it's bloody windy round here as well, luckily for me where i work is at the top of a hill so we get the full force of the wind  Couple of times i thought the roof was going to come off.

Had to park the bike inside the workshop so it didn't get blown over :thumb
