I had one back in 2006 and it was epic but at 5'9 I needed high heels. I sold it to another GSer from Scotland for £12500 and he rode it back from London to Scotland. I don't think he could walk for a week afterwards. GLWS.

Im 5.8 and just got used to the height. I even have 300mm forks on mine and a taller shock. Great bikes

Agreed, we’re at the end of our trip now, down from St Malo to the Costa Brava on back roads, over the Pyrenees using the ACT, and heading home tomorrow, and I haven’t missed a massive telly in front of me, laser guided missile lock and multiple rider modes one bit!
Biggest mistake of my biking career. In 2008 had choice of £4,500 for used 2004 1200GS or £6,500 for used HP2 inc road wheels as dealer couldn't shift it. I picked the GS as it had ABS...
I had one of these that I purchased new in 2005, registration was HP02 MUD and I had the supermoto wheels to go with it. Probably the most fun on and off road I've ever had with a motorcycle. I only sold it because it ended up as a garage queen and I stopped riding it, mostly because I was worried that if it got damaged, the parts were unobtainable. Sold it for a lot more than I paid for it new.
Just sold about 6-8 weeks ago for about £20-21k
