HP2 Enduro front fork replacing

My opinion, and I think most of HP2 riders are agree with me, is that the front fork of HP2 Enduro is kind of factory mistake. That's why I consider to replace the original fork with KTM 48 mm WP fork with the tripple clamps. The question is which model would fit better. I think from SX 450 will be the best choice, but may be HP2 is too heavy for it. Other way is to use it from any of the adventure bikes, but isn't it too hard? Has any body any experiance with this action?

if you fit harder spring the the weight of the hp2 over the 450 should be right


work out a kerb weight then times by 3 (hp2 + fuel+16stone riders )

In my opinion the best is front forks from KTM 950 SE (one brake disc) and the same weight

put in upgraded springs and have the front forks re-valved.
its a cheaper alternative and very common in south africa.
the original dive terribly on braking and were much to soggy for a 200kg bike.
i am sure there must be loads of fork tuning guys in Europe and plenty info on the hp2 sites.
fitting different front end is unnecessary .

Thanks for your help guys. After some research I found out that WP forks of the adventure models of KTM has quite shorter wheel travel, up to 250mm. except ADV R over 300mm. but it is heavier and the HP 2 wouldn't feel well with its fork. To change the springs is good and it is the cheapest way, but the problem with the bushes that have to change every season remains. Marzocci silver 50mm. sounds briliant. Thank you gsMarc. I didn't know about them, but should I trust to Marzocci any more, and the price is almost double as WP new forks. Maybe would consider a WP 48m fork from SX 450 cross bike with with harder settings.

To change the cartriges and springs is a good and comparatively cheap solution to reduce the diving etc. What would you recommend to solve the other problem of these forks: unreliable, clunky bushes and the soft coating of the down side (sorry I don' know the exact name of it)?

I'm a bit sceptical about buying forks with the standard HP2 outers (having had four sets wear after only a few thousand miles)
