hp2 luggage

:green gri Here are some pics of the rev pack luggage. I think it goes with the whole idea of the bike. Minimal. The larger luggage needs a pad underneath because the crotch is a little large. This gives me enough space and moves on and off the bike quickly without hauling a ton of hardware on the bike. No knobbies on this trip on road only. Have fun. Richard

Hi Carlos,

Can you explain what modification you have made to the rack or show me a photo?

I couldn't see any reason why I couldn't use a 35/41 litre pannier set as long I kept below the weight limit except that Touratech wouldn't sell me a rack on its own or with alternative panniers to the 29/35 litre set..........!

FP.:thumb

Sure:beerjug:

I had the same problem with the rack from touratech, They dont sell only the racks for some stupid reason, they say if you mount larger panniers then the recomended you can dammage the rear frame:blagblah
yep I know that, but you can alway buy the kit with the panniers and mount any other kind off cases:confused: They just whant to sell all, and that's the only reason.
I manage to buy just the rack becouse I had one kit from 800GS and the zegas are exactly the same sise... I explain that and they made this exception:loopy

Anyway, to mount the 2x35L zegas you have to change the distance betwen the left rack frame and the seat. To do that you need to get one smaller exhaust, I already had the Akra so it was easy.

You can see here how the rack its close to the seat on the right side.

On the left side it's now the same distance. You can see here that I attach the exhaust to the INTERIOR of the bike frame, the Akra is small enought to do that, the tyre do not touch anyting

On the pick you can see also the the junction I had to make to shorter the rear part of the rack (under the plate)

At the end This is the result,

the exact same distance ont bouth sides and 3 x 35L cases. For my need it´s more than enought for 2 mouths trips, they keep the gravital point low, not to waide, do not disturb my off road riding, are safe and easy to repair if the bike fall. I do not advice cases bigger than 35, of course you can mount them, but if you fall it's almost shure you will dammage the fragil bike frame.

sorry for my english:D I will take some more photos with details of the rack junctions for you and post here.

Dont Worry Dudders

Dont Worry Dudders i am having another tail bracket made up for you, the BMW large soft luggage is the way to go, did you find one?

Cheers

Hi there, just another contribution this time from Portugal:beerjug:

I use one touratech kit but I modified the rack, I have 2 x 35L Zega cases
I gain some space in the exaust pipe area using one akrapovic.

To transport fuel, and after a lot of investigation I decided for the HPN Tank

I'm very happy with all, 6000kms in 15 days with no worrys

here some picks from the Zegas modified

Hi does anyone know what these cylinder head covers are please, they look just what I am looking for - cover all of the rocker cover and flush fitting so less chance of bending bolts etc. thanks in advance
