Right so last sunday i was at the workshop trying to sort out my ttr250 ,and mr dave watson turn up .
After setting vavles and th/ bodies ..then the running fault.
Dave fitted a gsa1200 fd which has wrong abs/ speed sensor
After pointing out to dave that i can swop back plate which then the right sensor
Can be fitted ,this should work ......after the job was done no wrong mph and runs sweet ....



So yes you can use a 1200 fd but u need the back plate .

So if you need to find a spare fd for hp2 dont worry there r tons of common 1200 ones about

do you have to modify the sensor pick up ?

Nop you fit the hp2 back bearing plate with hp2 pick up / speed sensor

Just to confuse things.........

my recent replacement rear drive is the new design, and it has a different pick up sensor (which just plugged into wiring loom and works OK).

So I'm sure it will be possible to match up rear drives and sensor pick ups without all the hassle of changing the back plate.
