1) can the headlight be converted to HID?

2) How far do the tyres go and how much are they to replace?

3) Anyone tried any different bars with a crossbar like renthal perhaps?

4) How far can you go on a full tank with the filler neck drilled out?

5) any how to's on drilling the filler neck out?

Thanks...

More questions...:D

1) can the headlight be converted to HID?

Yes, seen them advertised on ebay, don't know how effective they are though.

2) How far do the tyres go and how much are they to replace?

My rear is about ready for replacement at 5,000 miles, front has plenty to go yet.

3) Anyone tried any different bars with a crossbar like renthal perhaps?

The bars and riding position are perfect for me as they are, so not altered them at all.

4) How far can you go on a full tank with the filler neck drilled out?

Generally runs to an easy 130 miles pretty consistently. Gentle riding might see 150, but that's hard to do on the Megamoto :D

5) any how to's on drilling the filler neck out?

Undo the bolts round the filler neck, remove the neck, take care as the fuel level sensor is attached. Disconnect the wiring. I drilled 4 x 8mm holes at 90 degrees to each other about 10mm down and seems to have worked fine.

Thanks...

Hope that helps.

Hope that helps.

From my experience of the HP2E on SM rims, I would agree with everything Mr Bar says :thumb2

Except, I wouldn't bother drilling the filler unless the MM is different. If I over fill my bike and then leave it while I go pay, make a visit to the little boys room etc, it leaks petrol through the overflow down the side of the bike. And, now that mine has run in properly, I can still get 130 miles without having to overfill it :thumb

Thanks for that.
So tyres arent going to be an issue either.
What is the cost of the tyres?

Can't think why the tanks would be different, but mine has never overflowed, having got down to 2 miles showing on the range in France (and it had been on that for a while ), I'm glad I drilled mine :)

Not bought any tyres yet, but I'd guess at less than £200 a pair, going off the £185 (fitted) I just paid for Pirelli Diablo's for my Rockster (same size front, 180 instead of 190 rear).

More questions.
Will my full 1200GS remus system fit the MM?

Don't think so. I don't doubt it could be made to fit, but pretty certain it's not a straight bolt on.

If you look at DeeTee's dyno chart for his Full Akro system (+ 2.24hp), I'd say the cheapest / easiest option would be to sell the Remus and buy some de-cat headers for the standard Akro silencer.

mines got over 4k on the clock now.
We were touring ast the weekend and I managed 159 miles on 12.3 litres.
That equates to 58 miles per gallon.
I only took is easy for the last 30 miles or so. rest was quite heavy but not mad going.
Filler neck drilled, thanks Joe;)

I put Cobra H4 double xenonlight with solenoid. When i put high beam, solenoid moves bulb and light can go through hole in shade. Well, the result sucks. Low beam give light everywhere. It's good that other vehicles would notice better, but doesn't light better than stock. High beam is terrible sharp edged mystic shape and that bright area is not in middle either. Stock is better. It also gives lampf warning on dash. It could be removed by extra resistors parallel with lamp.

Forget it. It doesn't work properly with Megamoto. Buy decent H4 bulb instead. There is also with higher watts (for racing use only).

I think there is also H4 xenon with two ballast. That might work better.

no problems whatsoever, swapped bikes with my mate and he was behind me and I could see what the headlight looks like.
The headlight is fantastic, high beam/flash works perfectly too.
I do get the lampF failure but i have resistor to fit, no probs really, small price to pay.
