HP2 off road use

if you use your HP2 off road you might like to have a look inside the front cover, I just done it today while prepping the bike for the desert and found a load of clay and soil , I did not think anything could get in here, but it comes in beside the Alternator, Maybe worth a check

Seems a bit drastic taking the whole front end off just to get a clear photo!
Removal of and cleaning behind alternator cover is mentioned as an extra in the manual for bikes used off road. Something they obviously picked up on during development.
Thanks for reminding me.

PS What make is that stand? I've been trying to locate one low enough to use with the HP.

Gunner.... checked mine a couple of times and yes...these things do happen often when the terrain has lots of murky and muddy areas...

Where can I get it? In Germany?
Does it get both wheels off the bottom and the HP2 stands secure?

re stand

the stand I have just posted is not very secure , and the bike wobbles when propped up on it , I have just changed the Clutch on my HP2 and I would have been lost without it , I mainly use a stand that goes through the rear wheel
see enclosed pic of bike and I have enclosed a pic of the pop up stand under the engine , with the new clutch in place

did you have fun refitting the gearbox/swing arm gaitor?
I spent a wonderful knuckle grazing 3 hours reseating mine. There aint a lot of room is there! A "dry squeeking" alerted me to its misplacement - could have been like that from new. Presumably I've also got knacked UJ bearings now

you dont know the half of it

sent the bike last friday to the dyno and they diagonised that the clutch was slipping ?
so with only 16 hours before bike shipped out to Libya , had to source a complete kit from Dublin get it to cork and fit it
and everything on the HP2 takes time

it is homemade by a friend of mine on the UK gser site "Daithi" and the framework is in Ali , with a PUIG Carbon effect screen
I have lost the standard BMW clocks and on the back connector to the clocks there is a link put in there to stop the error codes going mad
on board we have the ICO METER Driven by a magnet on the front wheel , below that we have a touratech electric road book reader with twin electric motors , below that you can see the bracket for the electric E track system so you can be located in the desert and to the right of all tha is the faithful Garmin GPS 12xl unit , and the controls for all that ore on the left handlebar switch , which is a Touratech 5 button unit
